The Round Pub Table – A Method To My Madness!
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009It can be hard finding great furniture if you live in a smaller region like me. I have been relegated to doing my shopping online for a while now. Luckily this has turned out to be a harbinger of good fortune and money savings! I primarily use online auctions and have had amazing results. I have 12 pub tables in my game room and have built something that my friends think is one of a kind. I have a permanent bar with darts, billiards, video games, and 2 50+ inch televisions. I chose round pub tables to give our bar area an old world feel. Round pub tables were produced in England to pay tribute to the legend of King Arthur and the legendary round table.
Adding a touch of history was really what has made our "home Pub" stand out from the ordinary. We have jousting equipment, swords and armor decorating this space. It was so fun finding these pieces and incorporating them into the decor. Of course the T.V.'s stand out but the over all effect is very stunning.
So if you are looking to do something different try going way outside the box. It makes the whole experience more fun. Maybe you have some family history that can tell a story to the people you entertain? This will make these guests remember their time in your home. I have had several guests take a page from our book and put great entertaining ares in their homes after visiting us. After all imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? I always pitch in and share my experience with them. Then I get to relive the fun I had planning and creating our decor. It's win win as far as I am concerned.
